SUPPORTED MAIL SERVERS

SmartMail service supports following installation options:

1) In-house mail server (MS Exchange or Lotus Notes)

The SmartMail service consists of two software components, one of which (Connector software) is installed on the corporate network, the other (client software) on the mobile device. The mail server is located on the corporate network, and new service users are added to the Connector software. SmartMail service requires outbound TCP connection to the port 7171.

2) Corporate mail server (MS Exchange or Lotus Notes) housed in an external data center

The SmartMail™ service consists of two software components, one of which (Connector software) is installed on the corporate network, the other (client software) on the mobile device. The mail server is located in a data center, but new users can be added with ease using the Connector computer on the corporate network. SmartMail service requires outbound TCP connection to the port 7171.
